Who I Am
I teach men how to rebuild their body and mind using simple structure, steady training, and clear thinking.
I use combat sports, strength work, and mindset tools to help you get back on track.
Nothing extreme. Nothing built on hype.
Just the things that work in real life.
I’m not a guru. I’m a guy who’s done the work, fallen off, and done the work again.
What I Believe
These ideas shape everything I teach:
Progress comes from small actions practiced daily.
Fitness doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.
Combat sports sharpen confidence and mental control.
Structure builds discipline.
Men need challenge and support, not judgment.
Starting over is normal, not a sign of failure.
The Road I Took
My life has been a series of resets. I grew up working early. I served in the Army for five years, including time as an Infantry Squad Leader. That period built discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility.
After the military, I worked in tech, coaching, and running dojos. I built programs, grew gyms, and trained men in jiu jitsu and muay thai for years.
But I also took hits.
I struggled with drinking. I gained weight. I dealt with depression and doubt. I lost sight in one eye. I carried the stress of family problems and long periods of feeling disconnected from the life I wanted.
My confidence dropped. My discipline slipped. I felt like I was watching myself fall apart in slow motion.
The reset didn’t come from a dramatic breakthrough. It came from simple steps: walking, lifting again, getting back on the mat, cleaning up my food, cutting alcohol, and building routines that fit my real life.
Small steps, done over and over.
That slow climb back is where everything changed.
Why This Site Exists
I know what it feels like to lose momentum.
I know how hard it is to start again when you feel like you’re supposed to already be further along.
Tom Short Online exists to give you a place to regroup and move forward.
A place with clear guidance and no pressure.
A place where you’re not expected to be perfect.
I built this site for men who are rebuilding, because I’m rebuilding too.
